Manny's first day of school

Manny started preschool at The Neighborhood at the beginning of September. He was so excited to start school. He was ready to go at 7:00 in the morning...school doesn't start until 8:30.

Manny asked for pancakes and I was trying to think of a way to make them "special first day of school" pancakes....so they became chocolate chip pancakes. He was so surprised.

Here are some more pictures from our trip to Boston. We visited Franklin Park Zoo. We all had a lot of fun and enjoyed the day.

Can you see us?
This lion was laying down very quietly and then all of a sudden he stood up, turned around and roared 6 times. I have to admit, it was a little scary. We all agreed that we felt that the 10 foot wall surrounding the lion wasn't quite high enough.

Visiting Boston

We spent Labor Day Weekend visiting Josh and Kristina in Boston.

Manny Says...

This morning while I was cleaning up the kitchen after breakfast Manny and Makenzie were sitting on the floor playing with Lego's.

Manny was facing one direction and Makenzie was sitting next to him.

I said, "Manny it is really nice of you to share your Lego's and playing with Makenzie".

Manny stopped, looked at me and said, "Makenzie is playing with me, but I'm not playing with her"

Manny Says...

Yesterday Manny, Makenzie and I were eating lunch at the kitchen table. We had turkey sandwiches, apples and carrot sticks.

We were sitting at the table quietly eating when out of nowhere Manny says,

"Mama apples taste like mustard"

I said, "They do?"

Manny replied, "Yes they do, when you dip them in mustard".

Preschool Tomorrow!

Manny and I were talking about his first day of preschool. We were doing the usual-are you excited? What do you think you will go? etc, etc.

Manny then said, "Kenzie will miss me while I am at school and she will be sad. I asked Manny if he will be sad that Kenzie is at home while he is at school, he says,

"Nope. I will be happy and excited because I will be at preschool".

Hopefully we have a smooth transition tomorrow.

Sea Dog's Game

We went to a family weekend cookout and Sea Dog's Game. We have a lot of pictures from the actual game, but here a few:

Playing with Uncle. When I look at this picture, it seems like Manny is really high up in the sky, but he's really not. I love it.

Hanging Out at Sand Beach

This was such a fun day at the beach. Makenzie actually had a fun time as well. Manny loved playing in this little area of water. It had been raining for at least 5 days before we went, so it was great to get outside.

Cascade Park

A couple of weekends ago, we decided to visit Cascade Park. Joe and I have lived in the Bangor area for around 10 years and have never actually been inside Cascade Park. It is so beautiful.

Computer Time!

It did not take long for Makenzie to form a love for the computer.

Big Girl!

Makenzie has started squirming around/crawling. I came around the corner today and she had crawled to the kitchen and was sitting there playing with Manny's telephone. She was too cute!

Finally....

We went to the coast a couple of weeks ago and Makenzie wouldn't take a nap...even though she was exhausted. Apparently, Uncle Phil has the magic touch. They were sitting in this camp chair for a total of two minutes before she was asleep.

I think he gave her a sip of what was in his "coffee" mug.


PS. How cute is Makenzie's dress....I made that!

A fun day with GG

GG came to visit a couple of days ago and she and Manny sat there for at least an hour putting puzzles together (P.S. GG has the patience of an angel).

This was after eating popsicles. I laugh when I see this picture, two peas in a pod.

Mama's Little Helper

Manny loves to help me make dinner and tonight was no exception. He decided that he wanted to try cutting up the onion for the stir-fry:

Sleeping Beauty

Makenzie actually traveled from the car to the house...AND REMAINED SLEEPING!! She never does that, she must have been really tired. I looked and she had both hands behind her head and looked so cute!

Ahoy There Matey!

Manny's third Birthday Party was a Pirate Birthday...complete with a Pirate Ship Cake. Manny loved this cake and I was happy because it was the easiest of his Birthday Cakes to make.

We had a great day, thanks to all who came to celebrate it!

Visiting with Uncle Phil and Grammy

Last week I picked Uncle Phil up from the airport on his way home from Tennessee and he got to spend the night at our house. Manny was very excited that when he woke up in the morning Uncle would be sleeping in the living room (Manny did come in and ask permission to wake Uncle up in the morning, which I thought was nice).

So, I can't figure out how to change the order of my pictures, so they are a little out of sequence.

Mom came down after work to pick Phil up and feed Kenzie a little contraband (it was soooo warm).

Lazy days of Summer...Finally

We finally have some warm weather and Manny is loving his pool. Makenzie enjoys the pool too. She loves to sit in her float and be pushed around the pool while she runs her fingers in the water (very regal, I know). Joe and I have been in the pool several times too, however, I have found that I am turning into my mother when I say, "Don't splash me! If you want me to come in you have to stop splashing!". I cringe when I say it.

Makenzie didn't feel like getting into the pool today.
