What a difference a year makes!

Last year they were well-behaved two-year-olds who sat on the tire swing:

Manny asked me, "Mama, Can we just go hangin' out outside with Kenzie?"

Making a Firetruck

Joe and Manny attended a monthly workshop at Lowe's and made a firetruck together. I have to admit that I was a little jealous when they came home and told me how much they had.

Manny received his own apron, a certificate and even a little patch to sew on his apron.

Touch A Truck

At the beginning of October, we all went to a fundraiser for The March of Dimes. They had various different trucks, firetrucks, ambulances, cement trucks etc for the kids to climb in and play with the sirens. From the residual ringing in my ears, I would say the sirens were the favorite part for everyone.

Attack of the Cows

Makenzie seemed really excited (okay, she seemed slightly interested) in seeing the cows so I pushed her stroller closer so she could look.

I think the cows were slightly more interested in Makenzie than she was in them as they seem to multiply:

I think the thing that really irritated Kenzie the most was when one of the cows reached out and licked her foot.

Looking at this picture, I think I am a little freaked out and ready to move away from here.

Down on the Farm

Tuesday morning we decided to head to the farm with McKayla, Kristian, Roman, Christine and Heather. Later on, Heather's friend Dan and his son Levi joined us.

It was a great trip and after we saw the animals, Dan and Levi invited us to their house to see their two chickens. Of course the kids were more interested in Levi's toys, but it was a fun day and as Christine commented on her blog, we were out of the house for 4 hours if you include driving time. YAY!

Anyway, since it is not summer anymore we decided that it was time to buy Kenzie a pair of shoes.

Football with Uncle

Does anyone else notice that Manny is almost as big as some of the players (they are so little).

Makenzie did not notice that there was a football game going on, but she loved crawling around on the track.

A Day at the Park

A day at the park with our friend Roman, who says, "Makenzie, I wuv ew". It is probably on of the cutest things ever.

A Blast from the Past

Here are some pictures of Manny and his friends from 2 years ago...can you believe that Manny is 3 years old and has been friends with McKayla and Roman for two years? They started playing together when Manny was a year and a half old. Wow!

Manny Says...

This morning, Manny asked for a cup of milk. I decided to try some cold milk thinking if he will drink it, that will save me the 30 seconds it takes to warm up his milk.

I brought the cup to him at the kitchen table. He took a drink and looked at me with his eyebrows practically growling and said, "Mama, I WANTED warm milk" in this really whiny annoying voice. I just looked at him and less than two seconds later he said,

"Sorry Mama, I used the wrong word. Please may I have some warm milk".

Manny's first day of school

Manny started preschool at The Neighborhood at the beginning of September. He was so excited to start school. He was ready to go at 7:00 in the morning...school doesn't start until 8:30.

Manny asked for pancakes and I was trying to think of a way to make them "special first day of school" pancakes....so they became chocolate chip pancakes. He was so surprised.

Here are some more pictures from our trip to Boston. We visited Franklin Park Zoo. We all had a lot of fun and enjoyed the day.

Can you see us?
This lion was laying down very quietly and then all of a sudden he stood up, turned around and roared 6 times. I have to admit, it was a little scary. We all agreed that we felt that the 10 foot wall surrounding the lion wasn't quite high enough.
