Granola Bars as a first food?

Manny was playing with Makenzie while Makenzie was in her excersaucer as I cleaned up the kitchen a bit. I wasn't really paying too close attention as there was no screaming and no apparent blood shed.

I looked over and did a double-take. Makenzie was eating Manny's granola bar. He had apparently put it down on the side of her toy and she picked it up.

Of course, the first thing I did was pick up the camera :)

Manny and Kenzie

Just relaxing together.

Visiting Portland

Last week Manny, Makenzie and I went to Portland to spend some time with Uncle John, Aunt Carol, Sarah and Chris. We had a great time....thanks for having us! I didn't get very many pictures, but here are a few:

Makenzie and Chris:

Manny loved Sarah's chair, and even ended up sleeping in it one night:

My Birthday!

Yay! I LOVE my Birthday (before children, I had a Birthday week, not so much anymore....even though I try to convince Joe to hold the time-honored tradition). Manny, Makenzie and Joe got me an Ice Cream Cake for my Birthday...yum.

I think Manny loves the cake too!

Ok, so I actually woke Makenzie up from a nap to celebrate my Birthday

The Weight of the World?

This is Makenzie's usual sleeping position. It is like she is so annoyed with us that she must cover her face. Is she a teenager already?

Hello Makenzie!

This is the picture Joe engraved (or whatever you call it) on Makenzie's Bedtime Music CD. Ignore the drool on her shirt please, haha.

Name Game

Last fall, Manny started saying his whole name as, "Manny Philip Ramos". Which was really cute.

About 4 months ago, Manny decided his name was "Mine Older Play Thomas". When asked what his name was that was what he would reply. This was because he had received a Thomas toy from Nana and Papa when he was born that he never was able to play with because of the tiny pieces (it was for ages 3+). Everytime he would ask to play with it, we had to say "not until you are older" because we didn't feel like going to the ER to have small pieces removed from his airway (not a fun way to spend the day, I would assume). Anyway, finally we decided that he had gotten over the put-everything-in-his-mouth stage and let him play with it, thus the name change.

Then 3 months ago, Manny decided his name was "Mine Older Play Thomas and Little Legos". This is basically the same story as the Thomas set. Joe had bought Manny "little legos" (for ages 4-7) and Manny wasn't allowed to play with those for a while, again involving a name-change.

Last week, when we asked Manny what his name was he stated, "Manny Philip Ramos here to open all doors". After Joe and I stopped laughing, I was able to explain to Joe that Manny could now open the two kitchen doors all by himself and was very proud of that fact (obviously).

The Body Shop at Home has a new customer

I just started as The Body Shop at Home Independent Consultant and Manny loves all of the new body products, makeup and especially the Body Butters. When Mom came over last Tuesday we decided to do the Peppermint Foot Soak:

Applying the Body Butter (strawberry is his favorite)...won't he love to see these pictures in about 12 years?

Mother of the Year Award Goes to....

Me!

When we arrived at Sand Beach yesterday, I fed Makenzie and put her back in her carseat. Not two minutes later I tried to move the car seat by picking up the handle. Well, the handle was not locked into place and oh yeah, Makenzie wasn't strapped in. Guess where Makenzie went? Face-down in the sand.

Welcome to the beach Makenzie!

Sand Beach

Yesterday Manny, Makenzie and I ventured to Sand Beach with McKayla, Kristian and Christine.

You may think we are crazy (maybe we were), but the weather was beautiful (the outhouse was not)....

there was not enough sand toys (even though there were at least 10 toys)...

the sand was warm (and apparently tasty according to Kristian)...

and we had a great time....we even saw The Little Mermaid (in her Cherry dress with the petty coat)!

Big Puppy

big pappi and manny

Grammy came to visit us today and asked Manny if he was going to watch the Red Sox Game tonight? Manny said, "Yes, mine am watching Red Sox" Grammy asked him if he was going to watch Manny and Big Pappi.

I didn't think anything of it until after supper and Manny says to me, "Mine want to watch baseball, Mama. Mine want to watch Manny and Big Puppy."

Visit to the Park

After dinner tonight we decided to head to the park. Manny rode his bike, Makenzie rode in the stroller and Joe and I walked, trying to keep warm. It was slightly more chilly than we thought, but it was fun.

Rolling Over!

Makenzie has started rolling over from her back to her tummy!

On Friday afternoon, her and Manny were playing on the floor. When I came back into the room from the kitchen Makenzie was on her belly. I asked Manny if he turned Makenzie over and he said no. I knew she had been rolling to her side and almost rolling to her tummy, but this was the first time she had actually gone all the way to her belly.

In the middle of the night I had to go into her room 3-4 times to flip her back over because once she gets onto her belly she can't quite make it back to her back.

Making a Cake

One cold rainy day last week, Manny and I decided to make a cake and surprise Daddy. Manny thought it would be a good idea to watch the cake bake...that lasted five minutes.

Our Little Photographer

Here are some pictures...of Manny taking pictures. He loves taking pictures (and especially using anyone's camera other than his own).

(He's showing me the picture he took of Joe).

Visiting GG

I love when Manny climbs up with GG to sit. I noticed him holding her hand and had to take this picture.

April Fool's

We told Manny we were having hamburgers for dinner and put one of these cookies on his plate. He looked at the cookie, looked at Joe and I and said, "no thanks, mine not hungry".

We played along for a little while that they were the best hamburgers were the best we had ever tasted etc. He still wouldn't touch them.

We told Manny they were cookies and he still wouldn't touch them. It was too funny. Poor kid, I think we traumatized him.

P.S. They are cookies with sesame seeds on top and then the burger is York Peppermint Patties, the lettuce is green coconut and the ketchup and mustard is just colored frosting. I thought they were really cute.

Manny Says..

Manny said to me today, "Mama, Mine tired. Mine running out of energy and put a pillow down on the floor to lay on".

You may be asking, did Manny take a nap? The answer is no. He was up 2 minutes later running around and playing.
